I’ve always been a fan of the dust collector hose. I’m not saying that you shouldn’t use them, but here are a few reasons why you may not need them.

Most dust collectors have a “hail” and “sick” mode in which the hose is not connected at all. This is because it is hard to tell when the hose is full of dust.

The other reason not to use your dust collector is that it can attract dust mites. They can become infested over time and can affect your indoor air quality.

To prevent this, you can connect your dust collector to a filter system that you have in your home. You can buy a good quality filter, but you can also make your own by using a 4-5 inch hose. You can also make your own hose by just cutting off a hose. The idea is to cut off the hose, leaving just one end of it attached to your ductwork. Now you don’t need to cut off the whole hose, just the end that you need for your ductwork. I made mine for the two guys who did a full on DIY project about a year ago. I was surprised at how easy it was when I tried it out.

I don’t know if you think this is a good idea, but if you have a couple of hose ends sticking out of your ductwork you can use them as a handy hanger to hang your dust collector hose.
