I am a great fan of portland’s harbor freight quakertown. This is a series of small shacks and trailers that are a couple miles out of town, usually along the waterfront. The area offers great dining, shopping, and entertainment, and it’s just a great place to walk or bike to.

I think the problem is that these little shacks and trailers are mostly a bunch of empty vessels for the most part. They’re a great place to go on the weekends to hang out with friends and watch a movie or watch a game of cards. They’re a great place to visit for a barbecue or for a concert, but they’re not a place that most people want to go to.
