I was lucky enough to win a $25 gift card for Luminar. I had heard about Luminar a while back but didn’t know how it would be different than the other indoor and out door LED lanterns. It was like my first lantern.
The problem is I had no idea what they were doing with Luminar until I actually put it to use. This was very helpful to me because I wanted to get my first outdoor lantern that was fully enclosed. The Luminar is basically a portable lantern with a light bulb that can be mounted to a chain and hung on a fence. Inside the lantern there is a LED light, a battery, and a USB to charge the battery.
The Luminar is now being used as a “dock light” which essentially means it has no battery, but you can plug it into a wall outlet. The difference is that the Luminar is fully enclosed and enclosed lights are more difficult to get the proper angle to light up. I’ve been doing a lot of reading on LED lanterns and there are some very innovative ones out there. I would definitely recommend Luminar as a light source.
